Manager - Copper Mine Co-ordination

Reporting to the General Manager Mount Isa Copper Operations, and, as an integral member of the leadership team, the primary focus of this role is to manage the short and long term mine planning and scheduling by providing strategic advice and management of all aspects of the Technical Services portfolio including resource modelling, reserve estimation, rock mechanics, mine/maintenance/mill interface coordination and geological and surveying support to operating departments across the Operations.
This role is also responsible for managing the operations of the raiseboring and diamond drilling functions which delivers services to the North Queensland Xstrata operations.
Responsibilities include developing, implementing and monitoring technical initiatives to ensure the delivery of business and strategic objectives. Supporting and influencing behaviours at all levels and providing leadership and guidance to a specialist team of engineering, geological and surveying professionals and an operational team of raiseboring and diamond drillers.
The successful applicant will have tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent, they will possess extensive experience in this field with proven leadership skills and extensive broad based experience in a planning and underground operations environment.
