Description
We are looking for an experienced Short Range Mine Planning Engineer to join our team.
Short Range Planning Engineer
This successful candidate will be involved with the development of daily, weekly and yearly mine plans, including the design and optimization of haul roads, shovel benches, waste dumps and tailings structures. Work will also involve production scheduling for the truck shovel fleet and extensive interaction with mine operations and other technical staff. Excellent communication and mentoring skills are a must.
Qualifications
- A B.Eng. or B.Sc. (Eng.) Degree, preferably in Mining Engineering. Consideration will also be given to Civil or Geological Engineering degrees with applicable Mine Planning experience
- Be registered as a professional engineer in Canada
- Have 6 – 12 years of open pit, large scale truck / shovel mining experience
- Preference will be given to individuals with strong computer skills including Microsoft excel, access, and having experience with CADD systems and Mine Planning software such as Surpac, XPAC and Whittle.
