Mining Engineer

|
- Inspection, monitoring and reporting
on active surface and underground mineral extraction,
- Assessing and commenting on
planning application consultations for mineral and waste management
operations adjacent to railway infrastructure, to protect the safety of
railway personnel, property and operations,
- Provision of mining stability
reports for all engineering reconstruction, renewals and enhancement
schemes to enable the potential impacts of shallow ancient mine workings
to be assessed and addressed at the feasibility and design stages.
- Managing the rights and
liabilities of Network Rail under mining legislation.
- Provision of mining stability
reports identifying the risk to railway infrastructure and all engineering
renewals/enhancement schemes from the presence of ancient mineworkings
beneath or adjacent to railway infrastructure,
- The inspection and monitoring
of active surface and underground mining, landfill and waste management
activities in order to protect railway infrastructure and property,
- You’ll be an experienced minerals
surveyor with several years experience and with a Mine Surveyor’s
Certificate, RICS (Minerals and Environment) or a suitable degree in a
minerals related discipline.
- Some
knowledge of geotechnical engineering and site investigation techniques would
be of benefit, but self-motivation, time management skills, team focus and a
valid UK driving license are essential.
