Electrical-Mill Maintenance Planner

Teck-Pogo Inc. is recruiting for a Mine Engineer to work at Pogo Mine located near Fairbanks, Alaska. This job will provide a great opportunity to be involved with a new state of the art, underground gold mine.

• Reporting directly to the Chief Mine Engineer, you will participate in the technical activities related to the operation of a fully mechanized underground drift and fill gold mine
• You must have a demonstrated ability to assume increasing levels of responsibility within an engineering group
• The capability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a creative, energetic environment is critical.

Primary Responsibility

• Development of short and medium range mine plans using the Mine2-4D suite of software

Additional Responsibilities

• Production reporting
• Performing financial evaluations and cost analyses for operating and capital project justification
• Project work as and when required

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mine Engineering
• 1-5 years of technical experience in an underground hard rock mine
• A high level of computer literacy

Preferred Qualifications

• A demonstrated proficiency using Mine2-4D (or another 3D mine planning and scheduling package), Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This is a camp job, the position is located at Pogo site with transportation provided from Fairbanks, Delta Junction or Tok. The work rotation is 4 days on and 3 days off. At Pogo all rooms have phone, internet, & cable tv connections. The camp has a game room w/pool tables, an exercise room, a weight room & a sauna.

Must pass a post-offer physical and drug test.
