This is an excellent opportunity for an established Environmental Officer in the mining industry to step up into a role or for a Senior Environmental Officer looking for more career opportunities.
As Environmental Officer you will assist in the overall management of a number of mining operations for an international mining owner/operator through the delivery of effective environmental processes and compliance programs.
Reporting to the Environmental Manager some of your responsibilities can include:
· Safety and Health: the adherence to corporate and site policies, workplace training and assessment, risk assessments, workplace training and competency, incident investigations as well as workplace inspections
· Environmental: Continued development of the EMS as well as providing technical advice to operating departments
· Community: Continue to develop the Community Relations Management Processes
· Employment Development
· Business Results
To be successful in this role you will need:
· Tertiary qualification preferably Environmental Engineering, Science or Diploma of Natural Resources
· 3 - 4 years experience in a similar role at a mine site
· Possession of a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training
· Knowledge of current Environmental Regulations and Legal Requirements
Salaries will be commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $80k - $110k + benefits. Salaries outside this range will be considered for people with exceptional skills.
