My client, a major cement manufacturer is in need of an Electrical
Engineer for their facility north of Sacramento CA.
This position is primarily responsible for maintenance,
documentation and project development for the electrical systems, as well as
supporting daily process problem-solving and measurement activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to electricians and
trades helpers in the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical and
control systems
- Participate in training and
development of personnel.
- Evaluate and maintain proper
functioning of electrical and control systems.
- Plans, designs, and coordinates
corrective maintenance projects with the Maintenance Planner.
- Prepare maintenance and construction
contracts with Purchasing personnel.
- Establish and maintain communication
with suppliers, contractors, and outside engineering firms.
- Supervise contractors assigned to
electrical projects.
- Develop and monitor condition-based
electrical maintenance programs including thermography analysis, equipment
troubleshooting and trending, vibration analysis, and laser alignment.
- Coordinate electrical plant projects
and shutdowns.
- Design and implement electrical
engineering projects
- Elaborate and review bid documents
and technical specifications
- Participate in pre-feasibility
studies.
- Create electrical system design
packages.
- Provide technical assistance for
electricians in the installation of electrical equipment and troubleshooting
electrical problems.
- Participate in the plant’s on-call
program.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical
engineering or electrical engineering technology is required
- Minimum 5 years experience in
electrical engineering and project management required and at least 3 years
experience in providing support for heavy manufacturing, cement manufacturing
preferred
- Familiarity with MS Office products.
- Good working knowledge of SAP
- Fluent with NEC, NFPA, ISA, etc.
- Familiarity with the operation and
maintenance of common electrical equipment (power distribution system,
breakers, high voltage system, air condition and pressurization systems,
variable speed medium voltage drives/motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC
equipment, power monitoring and communication systems)
- Experience understanding system
analytical studies (short circuit, coordination, load flow, motor starting and
arc flash)
- Understanding of the justification
process for projects including EVA, IRR, NPV and of contractual matters
- Experience in project management,
problem solving, creativity, strategic thinking, and decision-making
- Good knowledge of CAD software
(design of system installations)
- Familiar with PLC/DCS and HMI
architecture, in particular, Cemat S7 software and hardware
- Ability to function effectively,
lead and interact in a Total Quality Style
- Ability to communicate at all levels
to attain achievement of goals
- Willingness to travel within local
EBU or region
- Ability to perform tasks that
include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces, and
occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
