Exploration Geologist

BC Western Potash Corp. is a mineral exploration company engaged in the evaluation, exploration and development of potash mineral properties in Western Canada. The Company intends to define and develop a world-class potash deposit in an ecologically sustainable, economically efficient and socially responsible manner

The Company has an immediate requirement for the following positions to join our Vancouver based exploration team

Exploration Geologist: reporting to the VP Exploration

• The key responsibilities of this role would include the geological planning and execution of drilling and seismic programs to evaluate potential potash deposits within the Companys properties in Western Canada
• The ideal candidate would be professional geologist registered in Manitoba or Saskatchewan who has extensive well site experience, has logged and sampled drill chips and core in water based and synthetic, oil based muds, possesses excellent computer skills, has experience in processing and managing geologic, geophysical and geochemical data using one or more database packages, has experience using exploration GIS software (MapInfo preferred), and experience in setting-up and managing databases for large drilling programs, has experience managing multiple contractors, has the ability to work independently, and has experience managing logistics and HSE operations
• Preference will be given to those individuals having experience exploring for potash deposits
• While a significant portion of this role will be field based, office based reporting, data interpretation and project generation will also be a component of the role
• Experience in land management would be an asset
• These are hands-on roles within a small team where the ideal person will have the opportunity for significant input into the decision making process
• High levels of personal energy and enthusiasm and excellent communication skills are required.
