Our client is an international mining company,
employing over 50,000 individuals in over fifteen countries, is currently
seeking a Six Sigma Black Belt / Business Process Improvement Specialist
responsible for quality improvement to join their organization. They
maintain a meaningful position in many international commodities including
copper, nickel, zinc, etc. Located in Northern Ontario, this employer
provides a wealth of benefits and some of the perks are:
- Flexible benefits package
- Defined contribution pension plan where company automatically contributes
5% of annual salary, employee can, voluntarily, contribute up to 4% and company
will match employee’s contribution up to 50%
- Vacation time provided bases on level of experience; 2 weeks for 2-3 years,
3 weeks for 3-8 years, 4 weeks for 8-16 and 5 weeks for 16+ years of
service/experience
- Bonus is paid based on level of experience
- Excellent retention package with potential to receive up to 20% of salary
paid May 2010 or 35% of salary paid in May 2011
Duties include:
- Assist Master Black Belt in the successful implementation of the
strategic site business plan through completion of assigned projects (Kaizens,
tasks and analyses)
- Provide training, guidance, knowledge and
mentorship to brown/green belts to produce lasting change
- Direct quantitative business results using process
viability reduction, waste reduction and growth tools focused on critical
process and business initiatives
- Work towards achieving efficiency savings, creating
relevant standards, gathering and assessing information, planning and
consulting with management to aid in decision making.
Requirements are:
- A university degree, preferably in Engineering,
Science, Business and/or be a Certified Black or Brown Belt
- Strong change management, project management and
analytical skills
- Ability to promote Six Sigma philosophy by using
the following abilities: leadership, management, facilitation and coordination
- Exceptional communication skills are necessary for
dealing with individuals across all levels of the organization
- A familiarity with mining applications is desired
but not necessary
