Responsibilities
- Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and
environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health,
safety, and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks
assigned.
- Short-range mine planning involving dragline design, truck-shovel
design, regrade design and estimating.
- Long-range mine planning including pit design, equipment selection and
replacement, scheduling, staffing, reclamation, and estimating.
- Integrate plans with short and mid-range mine plans.
- Develop and assist in annual budget including cost and financial
analysis.
- Assist in regulatory permitting.
- Team oriented with strong communication skills.
- Understands and promotes process improvement
and change initiatives.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in mining engineering, or related degree, or
equivalent experience in surface mining engineering.
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and
Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- The ability to travel and relocate as required.
- Mincom Minescape skills a plus but not
required.
