Quarry Supervisor/Mobile Equipment Mechanics

Our Mason City Iowa plant is seeking
a Quarry Supervisor to manage a team of mobile equipment mechanics. This role will also supervise our rock
crusher, and clay dryer. The ideal
candidate will have a strong understanding of equipment maintenance, ability to
plan short and long term projects and maintain administrative
responsibilities. This Quarry Supervisor
will work with a Quarry operations counterpart.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelors'
degree in relevant engineering desired or equivalent experience showing
proficiency with heavy mobile, diesel, stationary crushing and drying
equipment maintenance
- Previous
mine/quarry or mobile equipment mechanic experience including supervisory
or lead experience
- Knowledge of
primary crushing, conveying, stacking, and reclaiming systems
- Ability to
resolve day-to-day questions regarding equipment, materials, methods, and
procedures needed to complete projects
- Ability to
effectively manage and maintain all mining, production, and databases
- Strong
knowledge of combustion processes and associated equipment as related to
raw material drying methodologies
- Experience
with heavy mobile equipment maintenance project estimate preparation
- Successful
management of mobile equipment parts warehousing
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide
leadership in the daily supervision of mobile equipment maintenance and
quarry operations
- Lead
operations of the quarry at projected costs or lower
- Lead quarry
team in accomplishing short and long term mobile equipment strategies
- Lead mobile
maintenance team in accomplishing weekly scheduling, daily scheduling,
task completion, work order maintenance, and mechanic oversight
- Ability to
troubleshoot operational and equipment maintenance issues critical to the
operation
- Inspects,
maintains oversight of, and evaluates work in progress
- Establishes
systems to collect and review equipment data in support of mobile
equipment oil sampling campaigns, PM programs, overhaul schedules, and
general mobile equipment maintenance
- Compiles and
reports daily production data and maintenance work orders
