Job Description:
Our client is a multi disciplined, innovative, provider of EPCM Services. Based in Calgary, our client provides for the complete range of oil and gas production equipment and processing plants. At this time they have an immediate need for LEAD/ AREA LEAD PROCESS ENGINEERS to work with major clients on large oil sands projects.
This Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for leading major and/or minor discipline teams from conceptual stage to detail design stage.
Experience in some or all of the following areas would be considered an asset:
- Broad exposure to heavy oil facility design and construction related to field facilities (production pads, wells and flowlines) and processing facilities (steam generation, production treatment of bitumen, water and gas).
- Process design experience including process mass balances, process flow diagrams and process support services.
- Systems design experience including piping and instrument diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, hazard and operability design reviews and systems support services.
- Proficiency with HYSYS and related simulation software.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership, mentorship and coordination of intermediate and junior process personnel.
- Execute Feasibility Studies / Conceptual Design / Process Studies.
- Process simulations & modeling of oil processing facilities.
- Developing and stamping of key design documents (Material Balance, PFD, P&ID and Shutdown Keys).
- Line sizing; PSV sizing; Preparation of equipment process data sheets.
- Conduct P&ID/HAZOP reviews; generate control narratives; prepare start-up/operating manual.
Required Skills for Lead / Area Lead Process Engineer Job:
- P.Eng registration with APEGGA or equivalent
- 7 plus years oil and gas experience with EPCM background
- Chemical Engineering or related Engineering degree
- 2 plus years of North American EPC experience
