Safety Manager

Our Client is a significant force in the files of construction and contract mining. With operations already established in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia, with an annual turnover exceeding $1.2 billion and 3500 employees, the company is now looking to increase the size and scope of its operations.
They are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Safety Manager to join their team.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
· Developing a sound understanding of the risk profile of each project and developing strategies to reduce risk.
· Ensuring all projects have adequate safety resources to meet set objectives.
· Encourage and promote the establishment of the highest possible safety culture and values throughout the company.
· Professional development of project safety staff and develop strategies for staff retention.
· Assisting with development of the BU strategic safety plan and ensuring it is fully implemented at project level.
The successful candidate will possess;
· Experience in change management leadership and effective use of change management tools and strategies.
· Ability to manage and communicate with a diverse range of people.
· Knowledge of HSEQ work systems and processes within the Mining industry.
· Tertiary qualifications required in conjunction with HSEC experience in mining or a heavy manufacturing environment.
