Project Engineer - Entry Level

- The Project Engineer-Entry Level will report to the Manager of Projects
and to specific project managers when assigned to projects
- The Project Engineer-Entry Level will provide engineering design and or
review of existing drawings, for mineral processing equipment including
flotation cells, thickeners and grinding mills.
Scope of Duties
- Engineering
support on equipment sales and project tenders.
- Participate in
client tender review meetings.
- Assistance in the
preparation of tenders including review of cost estimate, compliance with
technical specifications and submission of technical data.
- Customer technical
liaison and assistance in support of Project Manager.
- Engineering design
of mineral processing equipment including, flotation cells, thickeners,
peripheral equipment for grinding mills, and equipment packages as required.
- Key components
include large elevated tanks, agitator support bridges, gear guards and other
plate work and piping.
- Identifying design
improvements and providing design feedback to product design centers.
- Development and
implementing of quality standards.
- Provide QA for
fabrication projects, including review and approval of supplier inspection and
test plans, welding and heat treatment procedures, and performing shop
inspection.
- Development in
association with Project Manager of specifications for purchased items.
- Respond to mill
maintenance service enquiries from clients and screen these according to
technical and economic criteria in conjunction with clients’ mill maintenance
supervisor.
- Review and
approval of subcontractors and inspectors in conjunction with procurement dept.
- Action all
warranty claims.
- Provide
technical/engineering support for mill spare parts, mill service and mill
installations.
- Engineering
review of installation, commissioning and service reports.
Qualifications/Experience
Required
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical,
Metallurgical or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in an
Engineering environment.
- Knowledge of heavy steel casting and
fabrication processes preferred.
- Experience with mineral processing equipment
highly preferred.
- Solidworks experience.
- FEA experience a plus.

- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal
communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and
follow-through skills. Able to multi-task and prioritize among competing
requirements.
- Skilled at technical report preparation.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
- Able to travel as required.
- MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and
Project
- Lotus Notes a plus
- Multi-language skills a plus
