The Project Manager will manage the design, supply, installation and
commissioning of mineral processing equipment, including flotation cells,
thickeners and/or grinding mills. The Project Manager will report to the
Manager of Projects.
Scope of Duties
- Support
of sales/proposal process including cost estimating, selection of fabricators,
obtaining pricing from subcontractors and suppliers and review of contract
terms and conditions.
- Establish
and maintain effective communications between Outotec, clients and suppliers.
- Track
and control project costs and schedules.
- Manage
preparation of project files and document control processes.
- Preparation
of cost control reports and forecasts.
- Preparation
of enquiry documents and evaluation and selection of suppliers/subcontractors.
- Quality
assurance and quality control, including preparation of inspection and test
plans and coordination of inspection contractors.
- Preparation
of monthly reports to clients and participation in client meetings.
- Approval
of vendor’s invoices.
- Occupational
Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Allocation
of resources to meet the needs of the projects.
- Generation
of supportive documentation for progress claims and variations.
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Structural
Engineering.
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in an Engineering environment.
- Project Management experience required.
- Knowledge of heavy steel casting and fabrication processes.
- Experience with mineral processing equipment highly
preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills. Able to
multi-task and prioritize among competing requirements.
- Skilled at technical report preparation.
- Autocad competency a plus.
- MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and Project.
- Lotus Notes a plus.
- Solid understanding of procurement, shipping and logistics
processes.
- Demonstrated experience in contract review, negotiation and
administration.
- Multi-language skills a plus.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
- Able to travel as required.
