Senior Electrical Engineer

Our client is a renowned international supplier of high-end consulting, engineering and project management services to the most prestigious energy, power and process industries projects.

They are currently looking for a Senior Electrical for their location in Western GTA.

Responsibilities:

• Senior engineering role in design work for electrical power generation and distribution systems in mining/milling facilities
• Plant systems include overhead power lines and cable systems, switching equipment, transformers and protection/control for low voltage to 240kV systems inclusive, as well as motor control.
• Coordinate electrical design team activities to meet expectations of the project design team and client representatives
• Lead others in the preparation of design drawings for construction.
• Initiate and execute electrical power systems studies and calculations.
• Prepare technical reports and Client correspondences/presentations.
• Lead others in the reviews/selections of appropriate materials and equipment.
• Prepare drawing/document lists with associated engineering/planning budgets.
• Coordinate project design work duties and prepare schedules of engineering work.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines, other offices and other project team members.
• Visit project sites and other design offices for project related activities as required.

Qualifications:

• Experience in power system equipment and specifications for use in mineral processing plants, mines and hoists, and use of ETAP for analysis/calculations in power systems.
• University Degree in Electrical Engineering including classes in electrical power system analysis and electrical machines.
• P.Eng. with minimum 10 years' experience in electrical design and at least 7 years focused on heavy industrial facilities related to mineral processing/mining, and associated electrical equipment.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in power distribution and substation equipment common to heavy industry including low-voltage thru 1kV, medium-voltage to 72kV, and high-voltage to 240kV.
• Experience in supervision and coordination of electrical design team including preparation of drawing lists and budget hours.
• Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills and to handle multiple tasks.
