OHS Manager

Our Clients underground mine has operated continuously for over 70 years, and they are now approaching their next stage of increased production to ensure the future resource base and mine life of the Company.
They are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced OH&S Manager to join their operations.
Key responsibilities on this role include;
· The effective and efficient leadership, management and operational efficiency of the Safety & Training areas to achieve a safe, environmentally sustainable and profitable operation.
· The compilation, implementation, improvement and maintenance of the company’s operational safety systems to ensure the safety, health and well being of all employees, contractors and stakeholders.
· To ensure that the company’s statutory obligations are fulfilled and to notify management when those standards require updating and/or are not being complied with.
· The management of injuries and reporting and compilation of injury statistics.
· The compilation and management of the Safety & Training budget and for ensuring that the safety performance reflects predetermined targets.
· The long term planning of strategies to improve the safety culture of the workforce so that a high standard of work and safety is maintained at all times.
The successful candidate will possess:
· A diploma in OH & S or working towards one
· 2 years experience in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years underground experience
· Thorough knowledge of legislative requirements
· Computer literate
· Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment would be desirable.
