Our Client is a joint venture exploration company with exploration and development gold projects in Francophone West Africa. Both members to the JV Company operate mines in the region too.

The JV Company has a requirement for a Senior Geologist, a Project Manager for the JV and reporting to a steering committee representing the two JV partners.

Responsibilities

• You will drive the exploration program and manage an exploration team;
• An existing program has been approved by the steering committee but future programs will require your planning and control expertise.

Experience

• You will be a senior Geology graduate with 7-8 years of previous relevant experience;
• You will have a solid exploration background and Brimian geological experience will be a bonus;
• You will be prepared to work in Francophone West Africa, mainly Mali;
• You will manage an exploration team consisting of 30-40 local personnel;
• You will have relatively fluent French skills.

The company hope for a September start, the field season lasts from October to June. The remaining period would be used for R&R, office based work and desktop exploration;

The company operates a reasonably flexible rotation scheme (12 weeks on: 2 weeks leave) but owing to the short field season it is preferable that long periods of leave be taken during the Northern hemisphere summer
