HSET Coordinator

The continued success of this well-known employer is due to a dedicated focus on quality, safety and team work. As a result of new business, we are seeking applications from experienced HSET Coordinator's to come on board and make their mark.
 
If you are a self-motivated individual with significant experience as a HSET Coordinator/ Advisor this is the opportunity for you!
 
Reporting directly to the Mining Superintendent your key duties will include:
·         Implement and coordinate the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) system in accordance with the Coal Mining Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
·         Conduct site inductions for employees and contractors.
·         Coordinate all training on site (internal and external) and mentor operational Trainer Assessors.
·         Conducting risk assessments and implement standard operating procedures (SOP's) on site.
·         Maintain all HSE and training records for site.
·         Maintain and review site safety statistics.
·         Develop and maintain the safety management plan for site.
·         Implement and monitor the completion of personal pre-task risk assessments ('Take 5') and hazard reporting for all employees and subcontractors.
·         Develop and deliver monthly Toolbox Talks and regularly participate in pre-start meetings.
·         Participate in site audits and safety observations.
·         Oversee environmental reporting and management on site.
 
Successful applicants will ideally possess the following:
·         Tertiary qualifications in OHS or a related field
·         Cert IV in Assessment and Workplace Training
·         Knowledge and understanding of safety systems, procedures and relevant legislation
·         Exceptional communication, team leadership and stakeholder liaison skills
·         Experience in effectively using Microsoft Suite and relevant safety systems/ programs
·         Senior First Aid
