This is a remarkable opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Advisor to join a junior gold producer with ambitious growth plans and a bright future ahead.
Our client has a large number of proven deposits awaiting development approval and as such is seeking an Environmental Compliance Advisor to take charge of the proposals and compliance aspects of the potential new open cut mines.
This role will essentially involve formulating mining proposals, compliance reports, permitting issues and study work.
It will be a diverse role encompassing issues such as vegetation removal and land rehabilitation, archaeological aspects, flora and fauna studies - so will suit a "generalist" environmental candidate with all round aptitude and previous experience in a similar role.
Reporting to the Project Development Manager, you will be required to:
· Liaise with key stake holders to ensure compliance with legislation and community consultation
· Consult with the technical services team to implement environmental policy and plans to support the long term mine plans
· Contribute to rehabilitation plans across existing and proposed sites
· Liaise on an ongoing basis with site based environmental officers for relevant information for purpose of reporting
· Promote and support a culture of safe work practices
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
· Tertiary qualifications in environmental science/management
· Previous experience in preparation of compliance reports, proposals, permitting for new mining projects to ISO14001 standards
· Thorough understanding of WA Mines Legislation and Regulations
· Strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously
