Metallurgist position with a Closed Die Hammer shop specializing in the Aerospace Industry.

Specific Duties:

• Develop and modify metallurgical processes / techniques to ensure product quality and conformance.
• Perform failure analysis on stock material, forgings and finished parts including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Interpret and implement customer purchase orders, drawings and specifications.
• Perform material acceptance and approval of raw material for use in production.
• Coordinate with purchasing & engineering on applicable material requirements.
• Provide technical support to customers.
• Assist and advise Q.A. Analyst in preparation of qualification and shipping documentation.
• Assist and advise Process Controller on any procedural or processing problems on the shop floor.
• Review all CDF PO s for outside process and machining.
• Assist and advise on all outside processing issues.
• Assist Quality Manager in internal or customer audit / survey.
• Monitor periodic outside supplier surveys
• Maintain Metallurgical failure log / alloy database.
• Assist on all MRB submittals in regards to non-conforming product.
• Assist in maintaining logs for rejection, rework, corrective action, and submittal.
• Assist in training technical and non-technical personnel in metallurgical/forging fundamentals and quality control systems.
• Perform other assignments as directed by the Quality Manager and Senior Metallurgist
