Sr. Mining Engineer

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible
for mine design, long term mine planning, economic evaluation, and management of
major construction projects.
Essential Job Functions:
- Long-range mine planning: Prepare ultimate pit designs, optimum pit
phase designs and related schedules, dumping designs and schedules, leach pad
designs and loading schedules and Life of Mine Plans.
- Production scheduling: Produces mine schedules for annual budgeting and
long-range schedules for LOM planning.
- Project management: Manages design, bidding and contracting of
multi-million dollar construction projects.
- Economic analysis: Evaluates economic performance of projects, mine
plans and equipment replacement analyses.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline
from an accredited university.
Experience:
- A minimum of eight to ten years experience in mine engineering activities
at an open pit precious metal operation.
Certification:
- Registration as a professional mining engineer in Nevada is preferred.
