Mining Engineer



The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil, Gas & Mining has one position available in Salt Lake City, Utah.

  • This is a senior level position.
  • Incumbents work with minimum supervision.
  • The focus of the position is on the technical review of mining and reclamation plans, mine site inspections and compliance with regulatory requirements of the Utah Mined Land Reclamation Act.
  • Major emphasis is placed on the evaluation and application of basic mine engineering and reclamation practices/principles as they relate to the development of Utah’s mineral resources and the ultimate reclamation of lands disturbed by mining-related activities.
  • Evaluation and preparation of detailed reclamation surety cost estimates is an important responsibility of this position.

The salary for this position ranges from $25.42 (Step 61) to $38.20 (Step 76) with full benefits.
