Staff/Sr. Staff Geologist-Environmental Scientist

CRA has an opening in its Phoenix, AZ office for a Staff Geologist, who aspires to become an active employee in a vibrant, well-established engineering, environmental, construction, and IT consulting firm.  We offer a compensation package fully commensurate with experience.

Purpose:

  • The purpose of this position is to assist project managers with the investigation and remediation of underground storage tank (UST) and Superfund sites and other environmental projects.

What you get to do:

  • Environmental site investigation fieldwork including:
  1. soil boring installation and sampling,
  2. groundwater monitor well installation,
  3. soil and groundwater sampling,
  4. aquifer testing,
  5. data analysis,
  6. map preparation.
  • Assist project managers and senior staff with assessment/monitoring and closure needs
  • Assist with work plan preparation
  • Coordinate field work permitting
  • Coordinate and conduct subsurface investigations and related soil and groundwater sampling
  • Document investigation/assessment activities
  • Compile data and various regulatory report writing
  • Prepare quarterly groundwater monitoring reports
  • Some travel may be required.

What we are looking for:

  • BS/BA in Geology, Environmental Science or related field
  • 1-4 years industry experience
  • Working knowledge of EPA and ADEQ site investigation and remediation rules and regulations, and hazardous waste regs a plus
  • Valid drivers' license, a clean driving record, and vehicle for use to travel to various sites
  • Must be able to speak and write clearly and concisely in the English language
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
