Mining Engineer

Oceana Gold (New Zealand) Limited owns and operates the Globe Progress Mine near Reefton and the Macraes Gold Mine on the South Island of New Zealand. Oceana Gold is New Zealand’s largest gold producer and has a reputation for operational innovation and environmental responsibility.

We are seeking a Mining Engineer to join the dynamic team at our Reefton operations, to assist with the development and optimisation at the open cut mine.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer the key responsibilities will include:
·         Assisting with short to long term mine planning activities
·         Input into developing strategic and conceptual plans
·         Timely delivery of mine planning information to project personnel.

The successful applicant should possess:
·         A Mine Engineering degree
·         Skills in design and scheduling
·         Sound computer skills, including MS office and mine planning software
·         The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining quality
·         Well developed written and verbal communication skills
·         A high commitment to health and safety.
