Our client a global manufacturer of automated machinery is currently seeking strong individuals to join their dynamic and growing team.

• The purpose of this position is to have a clear understanding of global metal markets.
• Candidates should posses a strong background in stainless, ductile iron, FEA Flow Analysis as well as relationship/links with Steel Mills
• Other assets include the ability to speak towards metal substitution and make cost reductions and business recommendations on findings.

General Job Description:

• An understanding of the finished products that are currently purchased and what alternates exist,
• The trends and global activity of the inputs to produce these metals and
• Understanding of the global landscape of suppliers who could produce the above materials.
• With the information above, a strategy would be created, presented to stake holders and upper management and executed upon.

Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:

• Ability to construct a formal market study, prepare progress up-dates, fully document results of studies and testing
• Involved in working with Development Engineering to facilitate testing and patent applications if required.
• Create and present market updates to stake holders and Upper Management
• Provide process support by interpreting micro-structures and material property data
• Assist with mechanical property testing
• Support design team as required with material selection and related processing
• Cascade information to Global Stakeholders
• Supplier visits to intensify relationships, verify metal manufacturing or treatment process, and to perform on-site metallurgical inspections and mechanical testing
• Involved in the negotiating of key contracts
• Participate or lead continuous improvement activities
