Engineering Technician

My client, an award winning multinational engineering company now has an immediate requirement for an Engineering Technician for their operation based in North Bay. (300kms North of Toronto)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma and community college, university or post secondary engineering program
• Health & Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, WHMIS Certificate, ISO training
• Prior experience in the engineering and drafting field
• Mechanical small part modeling, design and drawing preparation 
• Technical and product related experience (mining experience is an asset)
• Engineering project management is an asset
• General computer skills, business applications and Microsoft Office programs
• Strong knowledge of engineering software (AutoCAD, Inventor etc.)
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with product managers to design new/improved mechanical parts and assemblies
• Support product managers and production with product maintenance, part numbers, bills of material and product routings
• Create 3-D models and engineering drawings for in-house and sub-contracted manufacturing
• Provide technical information to other employees and customers including proper use of products
• Investigate complaints and inquiries on product quality and application
•  Work with production and assembly to ensure that quality is within guide lines
• Participate, support and contribute to growth and business development of company
• To work within the guidelines of ISO Standards
• Participate in managing product assortment, part numbers and material specifications
• Work with in-house and subcontracted manufacturing processes, costs and quality
