Senior Geologist



We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Geologist to join a team of senior professionals focused on crafting the next generation of reservoir-specific solutions. 

This position is based in Houston. Texas.

 

  • The Senior Geologist will work within a senior multi-discipline team using advanced geoscience interpretation and best practices to evaluate and exploit opportunities in order to create significant improvements in recovery efficiency, well productivity, and development cost.
  • Target projects include resource plays (i.e.: stacked tight gas sands, gas shales, naturally fractured reservoirs, and coal bed methane) and certain mature GOM fields having good potential for further development using innovative technology applied within the context of advanced geoscience interpretation and past exploitation understanding.
  • Objectives for the GOM opportunities are to identify and exploit attic oil, new fault blocks, and/or deeper pools.
  • The Senior Geologist will support prospect evaluation work by providing validation of pre-existing interpretations and play concepts as well as creating new interpretations (ie:  depositional environment models, type logs, structure maps, isopach maps, cross sections, qualitative well log / mud log / core analysis, annotated bubble maps, etc.).
  • Among others, the successful candidate will have experience with the complete suite of integrated Landmark / GeoGraphix software.
  • Candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree in Geology and a minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience which includes work for an oil company or consulting company as a development / exploration geologist and significant GOM field experience. 

 

This will be a significant learning and professional growth opportunity since the successful candidate will work on a number of vastly different project evaluations each year in many of the industry's hottest onshore plays as well as the GOM.
