Materials & Testing Equipment Technician

Responsibilities are to assist the Materials & Testing Equipment Manager with processing request, shipping and receiving of NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) equipment and materials as required.  Individuals selected for this position must be available on-call and willing to work overtime and weekends as required, and on emergency basis.  Individual must have a valid driver’s license with no outstanding arrest or citations; must submit to a pre-employment background checks including medical, drug and alcohol screening; must receive appropriate training prior to operating any corporate vehicle.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a high school education or equivalent (GED); literate in basic math, reading and verbal skills?
• Experience in warehouse management, shipping and receiving processes?
• Basic computer literacy necessary to use inventory tracking, shipping/receiving programs?
• Basic knowledge of NDE equipment to conduct functional test is preferred?

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Process request, properly pack and ship materials to/from Charlotte operations facility?
• Properly use inventory control program, maintain accurate accountability of all materials at all times?
• Perform functional testing prior to shipping and upon receipt of all materials; identity deficiencies and segregate for repair/replacement?
• Perform comprehensive receipt inspection of all items received including newly purchased and/or current inventory returned?
• Properly document all non-functioning, damaged, missing, or worn; process orders for repair and/or replacement as required?
• Process received materials including newly requisitioned items through inventory control program and store appropriately?

OTHER DUTIES:

• Routinely clean and maintain orderly appearance of the M&TE control areas and high bay storage area?
• Perform and/or coordinate general facilities maintenance activities as directed by the operations or facilities manager?
