GIS And Database Analyst



RESPEC, a nationally recognized engineering consulting firm, seeks an entry level GIS and Database Analyst for the Water and Natural Resources Division.  The firm specializes in the application of technology to solve problems. 

The Water and Natural Resources Division projects generally are in the areas of surface and groundwater hydrology, geology, rangeland management spatial database management including ArcGIS Server web applications.

 

  • Primary responsibilities will include mapping and data analysis using in geographical information systems (GIS) applications, data management and analysis and SQL programming. 
  • The person will be located in Rapid City, South Dakota and limited travel will be associated with the position.
  • The successful candidate will work under the direction of multiple Project Managers (Engineers). 
  • The candidate should have 2 years experience using ESRI GIS including knowledge and use of geodatabases and ModelBuilder.
  • The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Geography, or a related field but a Master of Science degree is highly desirable.
  • The candidate must have proven interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Experience using ESRI GIS software, database management and SQL programming is required. 
  • Additional desirable qualifications include other programming experience (e.g. MATLAB, Python), statistical software (e.g. Minitab) and computer modeling experience (e.g. HEC-RAS, HSPF).
  • The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to qualify for a U.S. Federal Government Security Clearance.

Salary dependent upon experience.
