Job Description:
- Promote and support the Projects’ Safety Program through, safety walks,
attending safety or HAZID reviews, safety input into procedures, designs and pre
commissioning activities.
- Organise and participate in the delivery of the Project HSE Inductions
- Demonstrate safety leadership through the promotion of the Project’s
safety tools
- Promote a behavioral based safety culture throughout the Contractors”
workforces
- Ensure all Project HSE Systems comply with relevant regulatory and
Project requirements.
- Keep abreast of all relevant HSE laws, codes of practice and standards.
- Update and amend project HSE plans and procedures, as appropriate.
- Steward and assist contractors to schedule and co-ordinate site based
HSE activities.
- Participate in reviews and formal risk assessment processes as
appropriate.
- Work with Contractors on the development of suitable local hazard
controls and interventions.
- Work closely with the Construction Superintendents to ensure that the
Contractors understand, comply with and implement the project’s safety commitment
to an Incident and Injury Free workplace
- Monitor and follow up closeout of various HSE related action items..
- Receive, collate and circulate relevant HSE information and advisories.
- Monitor, attend and chair HSE Meetings as required
- Participate and monitor site Safety Committees.
- Assist in preparation and the review of agendas for the toolbox
meetings.
- Review minutes of safety meetings and toolbox meetings.
- Review HSE training as per the training plan, and assist in identifying
additional training requirements as required.
- Assist with statistical preparation and analysis of safety lead and lag
indicators.
- Provide Project line management with feedback on HSE performance.
- Assist with the preparation of the site based HSE weekly and monthly
reports.
- Maintain incident reports are completed and ensure all investigations
are properly conducted and recorded.
- Carry out plant and equipment inspections prior to working on-site.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as required
by Management.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in the formulation, implementation and
evaluation of management systems, policies and programs relevant to HSE
legislation, codes of practice and standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Contemporary knowledge in HSE legislation and relevant issues.
