Section Manager



To produce quality coal products that meet market requirements by achieving production targets, maximising the value of the coal through efficient, safe development and extraction methods.
 
Key Accountabilities are:
·         Coal production – to ensure planned output of coal is produced within the required coal quality specification and the requirements of the mine plan.
·         Team leadership/developing others – leads a team to ensure people achieve the objectives of the mine plan, agree accountabilities and performance standards, and achieve their potential
·         Health & Safety – to manage and monitor compliance with all health and safety rules, and all procedures and initiatives by accepting responsibility for their teams health and safety.  To also lead by example ensuring that all work is planned and carried out in a safe manner.
·         Quality – to contribute to ensuring that quality assurance standards are met through awareness of customer specifications, developing new procedures and, revising existing procedures, and reporting all non-conforming product
·         Communication – ensure the efficient continuity of production and safety between shifts at the mine by communicating with preceding and succeeding Section Managers, accurate and timely reporting to the Mine Planner and ensuring workplace status is effectively communicated at the start, end and duration of your shift
·         Analysing & problem solving – ensure any day to day decisions and/or actions are related to the future of the business by proactively contributing to improvements, ideas and feedback, making decisions and generating alternatives for addressing problems and achieving desired outcomes.
 
Essential requirements for this role are:
·         Deputy Certificate of Competency qualification
·         First aid ticket
·         Gas tester ticket
·         5 years mining experience
