Senior Project Manager

Our client seeks to appoint a head of their Pre-feasibility / Feasibility project team/s that is established to undertake a full technical evaluation and financial valuation of their Gold resources.

Key Accountabilities

• Your role as the Senior Project Manager is to support our client’s growth component of its strategic plan by managing, leading and controlling the project execution team that is established to carry out a technical evaluation and financial valuation of a Gold resource
• The project team will include technical and non-technical consultants and experts that will undertake work within the areas and disciplines of their expertise
• The incumbent will manage and co-ordinate the work of the team members so as to ensure that criteria set by the client is met and that the deliverables are achieved within program and budget.
• Establish, manage, lead and control a team of technical a non-technical consultants and experts required to execute to a point of completing a Pre-feasibility / Feasibility study.
• Establish project objectives and organize teams to conduct design and field work on the exploration properties
• Establish and manage project budgets and priorities, ensuring accurate and timely budget control and planning systems
• Coordinate our client’s Resources Estimation experts on resource estimation models to provide the resource estimates for the exploration and feasibility project.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure resources estimated are appropriate for various mining methods
• Effectively manage the project in areas of: performance management, compensation, international service, professional development and succession planning
• Design, implement and uphold policies and procedures ensuring all project and resources estimation initiatives are consistent with the Exploration strategy, Sustainability Policy, Business Code of Conduct, Costing and estimating systems and design Codes
• Submission of a Pre-feasibility / Feasibility study document that is within budget, program and satisfies our client’s codes, criteria and format.

To be considered, you must have:

• B.Sc. or technical Diploma in engineering. Mining, metallurgy, geology, mechanical or electrical engineering will satisfy the requirements of the position.
• Tertiary training and practical experience in project management processes and feasibility studies.
• 15 years minimum, comprehensive exposure to general engineering processes and techniques within the metallurgical, open pit and underground-mechanized mining environment.
• Experience within the Gold Open pit and Underground mining and process industry
• 10 years minimum, management position
• Demonstrated leadership ability and effective oral and written communication skills
• Russian language skills would be considered an advantage
