Responsibilities
·         Responsible for the designing of New Ore Blocks.
·         Responsible for generating the Budget, the Stoping Program and the development schedule for the Mine Captains at the Shaft.
·         Responsible to generating a schedule of work in order to show the sequencing and the timing of work that needs to take place to bring a block into production on schedule.
·         Responsible for determining the Equipment requirements for any ore block being brought up into production
·         Responsible for checking the necessary layouts in order to follow the monthly   development and production call.
·         Responsible for co-ordinating the collection of information / design from the other Technical sections namely Geology, Geotechnical, Ventilation, for the blocks under his responsibility.
·         Responsible for ensuring that blasting is done the right way.
·         Ensures that Production Holes (Rings) are drilled as per layout before blasting.
·         Undertakes monitoring assignments in specific areas of underground operations as requested by his superior in accordance with laid down monitoring procedures   and methods
·         Responsible for design or organizing the design to be done by another party for any project work related to his section, the Sectional Planning Engineer is also responsible for the implementation of the project on a timely manner.
·         Develops appropriate systems and procedures for effective monitoring of the implementation of the plans and recommends updating of the plans as necessary Undertake any other assignments related to the Obuasi Turn Around Project

Qualification /Experience
·         A B.Sc degree in Mining Engineering, with at least 6 years experience in the design and scheduling of sub vertical ore bodies.
·         Must be conversant with the use of Data mine or other design related softwares.

The successful candidate will be appointed on an expatriate 2 year contract, which may be renewed after the 2 year period. A US Dollar denominated salary package together with regular leave breaks will be offered.
