Group Mining Engineer

- Qualification:
Mining Engineering Degree
- Experience:
5 to 10 years
Requirement:
- Extensive
production experience as an open-pit engineer at a mine site, long-term mine
planning.
Necessary
skills:
- Computerized
mine planning, financial modeling, excellent report writing, environmental and
safety awareness
Preferred
skills:
Role:
- Primary
role is to liaise with management at each site to coordinate strategic mine
planning functions. In addition the incumbent would identify and manage
projects for efficiency improvements such as cost reductions, productivity
studies and technical support.
- Responsibilities
would include, but not limited to:
- Coordinate
technical evaluation teams to review new projects (in part or whole)
- Coordinate
with site Geological Development Manager to ensure resource updates coincide
with the required timing of LOM plans
- Provide
reserves with timely consideration of mine and corporate requirements.
- Prepare
life of mine plans
- Complete
technical reports for mine design, scheduling and project work
- Collate
group production statistics
- Collate
quarterly production forecasts
- Training
of site mining engineers in technical and operational matters
- Experienced
Mining engineer, graduate engineers.
- Regular
travel to mine sites within group companies.
