Our Client Is developing a gold project in Central Asia, owned by a
dynamic, successful company successful with investments and industrial
development.
The company is committed to developing and operating this gold project
and is currently recruiting an experienced Management team to build and operate
the mine. The project resource indicates a 10 (plus) year mine-life from both
open pit and underground operations; the Mill is planned to produce at 3,000
tons per day. Production is schedule to begin in 2009 at an annual rate of
150,000 ounces, when full production is reached.
The operation country is a Republic known to be the most democratic of
the Former Soviet Union republics and renowned for being at the forefront of
social and economic reforms.
The climate in the Capital is described as continental, ranging in temperature
from minus 5C in winter to +30C in summer.
Life in the city is comfortable with many facilities for expatriates,
including restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos. Shopping ranges from
fairly modern supermarkets and shopping centers, to Dordoi markets – the largest
markets in Central Asia.
There is very little crime against expatriates, generally, as long as
you keep to yourself, follow simple guidelines and move in groups, there is
little or no risk. The city has an International School and arrangements
can be made for dependents of employees.
Leisure activities include golf, fishing, a number of outdoor winter
sports, outdoor and adventure sports and alpine watersports.
The company has an immediate requirement for a:
MINE MANAGER
- Will report to the Director, Operations, along with Manager, Maintenance
and Manager, Mill; responsible for all mine production and development,
initially through means of an open pit but eventually progressing underground.
The role will be likely to have two Supervisors - reporting to the
position.
- Mine Captain – Production and
- Mine Captain - Development.
This person will be an Engineer (UNDER KYRGYZ LAW THE ROLE MUST BE HELD
BY A MINING ENGINEER) with experience of open pit development and operation, a
seasoned individual, with previous working experience as an expatriate, looking
for a 'good fit' - underground experience would be an added bonus.
The company operations are situated at reasonably high altitude and as
such can be harsh environments. The company is looking for fit, healthy,
proactive people who are prepared to get their ‘hands dirty’, role up their
sleeves and get the job done. Most of all, prospective candidate s should
realise that their employment is in a foreign country with all the complexities
of working in a foreign culture, where you are a visitor and supplying your
technical expertise.
The role is Bishkek based, on resident status but obviously working on
Site, initially Monday to Friday, for the time being, then likely something
along the lines of 9 days on, 4 off.
Site is about a 3.5 to 4 hour drive from Bishkek. Accommodation on Site
provided.
- Base salary USD 150,000.00
- Site allowance USD 12,000.00
- Both are net of Kyrgyz tax.
Other benefits:
- Leave: Total of 42 Calendar days, split between 2 R&R’s, airfare at
business class Bishkek-London-Bishkek; Home Leave, airfare to Point of Origin
at business class level
- Health Benefits: Self insured at this point, full coverage to be put into
effect including medivac
- Accommodation: in Bishkek, furnished or unfurnished,
- Relocation allowance: 1 month base salary (net)
- Air Freight: personal effects dependent on family size, but about 750 kg
to 1000kg
- Transportation: in Bishkek/Site - personal vehicles on order, pool
vehicles to be used until delivery.
- Bonus: yet to be determined, but will be one.
- Schooling: yes, company will provide, but details yet to be worked out.
