materials. Our products include aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete,
bricks, blocks and cement. We are part of the HeidelbergCement Group, which
employs 70,000 people across five continents and is the global leader in
aggregates and has leading positions in cement, concrete and heavy building
products.
We are seeking an
experienced geologist to join our marine division based in Southampton.
As part of a small
resources team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our license
portfolio, including resource management (including aggregate quality), license
compliance, permit development and environmental monitoring
- Additionally, you will be
responsible for survey management and the acquisition, interpretation and
reporting of marine geophysical and sample data which forms the basis of our
exploration program
- The ability to interpret
high resolution seismic profiles (boomer) and to correlate with core data to
produce resource models is necessary
- In addition, familiarity
with all modern survey techniques (especially side scan sonar and swath
bathymetry) and an understanding of sea bed processes would be advantageous.
- The successful candidate is
likely to be educated to at least MSc level and will have several years marine
resource or marine sector experience
GIS skills would also be
advantageous but not essential, as training will be given.
