Newcrest Mining Limited is always on the lookout for experienced, enthusiastic and self motivated Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to join the engineering team at Cadia Valley Operations when vacancies arise.
Our growing operations will require additional Senior Mechanical/Electrical Engineers and Entry-level Engineers in the future.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Ensuring that safety is actively promoted and incorporated in specifications for execution of all maintenance and project works;
· Ensuring continuous improvement of plant and equipment by addressing areas of need identified through, equipment performance reviews and or use of predictive maintenance tools;
· Undertaking root cause analysis failure investigations and implementing recommendations;
· Developing and implementing fit for purpose engineering solutions that meet customer requirements;
· Managing all works to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to the appropriate standard;
· Planning and implementation of major shutdown maintenance programs;
· Preparation of capital works submissions and implementation of the same;
· Various project work; and
· Supervising/leading Engineering/Maintenance teams.
To be successful in this role you will need:
· Previous experience in a similar role;
· Able to work within tight time constraints and deliver on deadlines;
· Good communication, reporting and interpersonal skills;
· Ability to work with others to achieve desired outcomes;
· Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills;
· A continuous improvement approach to all tasks; and
· Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
Cadia Valley Operations is located approximately 25 kilometres south of the scenic and historic community of Orange, New South Wales. The region offers a diverse range of dining, shopping, nightlife, sporting amenities and tourist attractions. Bathurst is 30 minutes drive east, the Blue Mountains 1 hour, Sydney, Canberra and the coast are within 3.5 hours drive.
Successful candidates will be relocated to Orange and receive a competitive remuneration package.
