Our client is a heavy engineering contractor providing specialist project management for construction and maintenance projects. With established working relationships with key players throughout the Mining, Construction and Process Industries, they provide fully engineered and evaluated solutions from project conception to commissioning using the world's best practices and state of the art equipment.
The right candidate must have extensive knowledge of the construction/heavy engineering/mining industry with a proven background in project/construction management and EPCM contractual experience. You must have RPEQ status or equivalent with relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical).
Reporting to the Managing Director/Board your responsibilities/skills will include but are not limited to:
· Managing a medium to large multidisciplinary design, engineering and construction team
· Knowledge of CHPP, structural steel, major mining equipment, conveyors, cranes, design & drafting, retrofit and design on brown field expansion, maintenance, commissioning and OH&S
· Responsibility for business performance, leading the engineering team and overall project delivery
· Budgeting, cost control, cost planning and costing for job, project and Group requirements to enforce and monitor control of costs
· Leading the tender process for engineering/construction based projects in construction, feasibility or tender stage and driving business forward
· Ensuring outstanding customer service levels are maintained including visiting and liaising with key clients to ensure project satisfaction
· Provide strong support to senior management/engineers, managers/ supervisors and other support staff to foster continual improvement and best practice techniques
