Production Geologist

·         MSc or PhD in Geology with around 9 - 17 years of relevant experience.
·         Should have a hands-onâ experience of a geological field modeling package, preferably Petrel.
·         He or she should have worked with a variety of play types, but experience in modeling fluvial sandstone reservoirs is particularly desirable.
·         The candidates may have experience of working outside India, where effective team-work and cultural sensitivity are highly valued behaviors.
·         He or she should have some familiarity with reservoir engineering concepts, and the importance of a geological understanding in building dynamic flow simulation models of oil and gas fields.
·         Finally he or she should be aware of the commercial issues surrounding the development and production of reserves.
·         Co-ordinate and run well operations and planning for same. Be able to present to JV and internal management in a confident and authoritative manner.

Good Knowledge on:
·         A good knowledge of petrophysical analysis for fluid saturations and reservoir characterization is essential, and familiarity with conventional and special core analysis and use of the results is also desirable.
·         Some knowledge of using geostatistics in building static models is necessary.
·         The geologist should be able to calculate field oil-in-place from input maps and other data, and have some knowledge of reserve classification, and an understanding of the uncertainties involved in volumetric estimation.
·         He or she should have a good knowledge of stratigraphy, sediment logy and structural geology gained in a variety of sedimentary basins around the world.
