Our client is an established Australian nickel producer who holds an interest in a number of operating underground mines in Western Australia. With a strategic business plan in place which includes the development and exploration of current projects and potential acquisitions they are set to maximise nickel production out of their operations over the next 10 years and beyond.
One of their projects based south of the [Location] is the proud home to one of the largest discovered nickel orebodies in the district offering a long and lengthy mine life. At present, they are in search of a suitably qualified and experienced Mine Geologist to join their underground operation. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of geological support to the project.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, your duties will include:
· Data collection and geological interpretation
· Orebody modelling and resource definition
· Progress reporting
· Supervision of drilling programs
· Grade control activities
· Data management
· Promotion of safe working practises
· Assistance with continuous improvement initiatives
To be considered for this position, it is essential you have relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology. Practical experience working in the field will be highly regarded; however graduates are also encouraged to apply. Exposure to survey based computer programs as well as other mining software such as Surpac will be highly regarded.
This position is offered on a FIFO basis, working on an 8/6 roster out of [Location]. An attractive salary package will be negotiated for the right person.
