Senior Mine Planning Engineer

Our client is a well established iron ore mining company who has a strong reputation in the market due to their high level of production in years gone by and their positive production forecasting for years to come. They are now in search of a Senior Mine Planning Engineer, if successful you will be required to provide short, medium and long term plans for the company’s [Location] operations.
If successful you will be required to work back to back with the other Senior Mine Planning Engineer, between the two seniors of you, you’ll have to deal with all of the end to end planning from life of mine through to short term scheduling.
Key Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
· Delivery of short term mine plans, reports and presentations on a quarterly basis conforming to production and quality targets and long term plans/ objectives
· Delivery of medium term mine plans which provide for logical mine development with an extraction sequence meeting tonnage, quality and cost objectives
· General options analysis and contingency planning
· Timely identification and communication of all mine development issues and risks within the short to long term planning horizon
· Involvement in pit re-optimisation, LOM planning and 5 year planning process by providing required input data and feedback to Long Term Planning Engineers
· Lead and mentor direct report/s
· Improvement of systems and tools to develop current planning methods
Formal Training and Qualifications:
· University degree in Mining Engineering
· Strong communication skills both written and verbal
· Mine planning knowledge
· Good understanding of the mining process
· Strong computer skills including MS Office, Surpac Vision or other mining software
· Exceptional time management skills
Roster is FIFO 9/5. If successful we will discuss salary throughout the recruitment process, it will be determined by your level of experience and will include 15% superannuation and up to 20% bonuses based on short term incentive plans.
