Our Client is a West Australian based supplier of iron ore to the Chinese and Japanese markets. Their position in the world market as a niche player has been won through strong marketing skills and management culture.
The Role:
Reporting to the Manager Mine Planning and Technical Services, the Chief Mining Engineer will be responsible for the provision of technical support and operational oversight of the mine production activities. As a senior member of the team, through strong leadership the successful applicant will be expected to play a key role in shaping the appropriate culture across site.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mining Engineer seeking a challenging role including fulfilling the role of Alternate Quarry manager on a required basis and to deputies for the Manager Mine Planning and Technical Services in their absence.
Extensive experience in a senior operational/technical support role in an open pit mining environment is essential. This role will be based at the one of our clients mine sites, however there will be a requirement to balance time between at multiple sites as the area of accountability and team resources are located at these locations.
Degree qualified in Mining Engineering, the successful applicants will have excellent leadership skills which will drive success and enthusiasm within the team. Possession of an Unrestricted Quarry Manager Certificate will be highly regarded.
