Our client is one of the leading project house in South Africa whereby they provide innovative solutions of EPCM to the mining & minerals industries
They have been in the industry for over 25 years servicing leading precious metals and minerals producers in the world.
The requirements are the following:
· Government Certificate of Competency - Mines & Works(Mech or Elect),
· Registered or have submitted an application for registration as Pr Eng, Pr Cert Eng or Pr Tech with ECSA.
· Must have at least 3 years on mine experience in a shaft / underground environment
· Must have at least 3 years experience on Mining Projects(study phases / implementation phase)
Job Description:
· Work under the direction of the Project Manager, and together with the Mining Engineer, drive the Project schedule to ensure that the deliverables are completed in time and within budget.
· Co-ordinate the activities of all the different disciplines towards the common Project goals.
· Carry out site visits and investigations and liase with client representatives to co-ordinate Project and Mine activities.
· Co-ordinate design reviews with respect to comments, approvals and operational readiness
· Assist with compiling Study and implementation schedules inclusive of allocating resources to tasks / activities in schedule
· Assist with compiling Project estimates(OME, PCE, CBE) including replacement / SIB capital requirements
· Assist with compiling OPEX estimates for Engineering equipment / operations
· Assist with compiling labour requirements for operations / maintenance
· Produce Project reports and documentation for all of above.
· The Senior Project Engineer will be required to assist the design department with the following:
Layouts/installations for shaft (surface & underground) infrastructure and services inclusive of:
· water systems(service, fire and de-watering pump stations),
· compressed air systems
· Rock handling systems (conveyors, ore passes, track & trackless vehicles)
· Men and material handling and transportation systems(track bound and trackless)
· Workshops to maintain equipment(track bound and trackless)
· Provide draughtsman with information and guidance to produce drawings of above (PFD’s, P&ID’s, Plot plans, layouts, GA’s and details)
· Draw up equipment specifications for tendering / procurement
· Draw up operating and maintenance philosophies
· Carry out trade off studies for equipment / method optimisation
