Metallurgist

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Participating in technical issues with manufacturing and Process Improvement Teams.
• Review specifications and drawings.
• Evaluate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Plan processing steps and evaluate processes.
• Act as technical support for product development.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree (required) in Metallurgy or Material Science with emphasis on metals.
• Appropriate course work in physical metallurgy, mechanical metallurgy, heat treatment, etc. are a must.
• Internship or 1 – 2 years experience in metals manufacturing environment with thorough understanding of manufacturing processes (desired).
• Basic experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, etc. are a must.
• Able to develop written instructions and procedures for processes.
• Capable of offering support and guidance to resolve technical issues in manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Problem solving skills based on technical knowledge.
• Able to prioritize work in a multitask environment.
