Our client is a dynamic, global commodities producer with a number of operations around Australia. Due to internal promotion, they are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to take a leadership role within the environment department at one of their largest sites. This is an exciting role for a Senior Advisor seeking growth, responsibility and unrivalled career development, unique to this major player in the industry.
Reporting to the Manager Environment, the Senior Environment Advisor will be responsible for a range of specific projects across the operation. Key duties will include:
· Provision of recommendations regarding environmental risk and planning including site-wide EMPs and closure planning
· Implementation and periodic review of EMS to ensure compliance and improvement
· Management of project budgets and forward planning
· Supervision, leadership and mentoring of other environment professionals including development, succession planning and performance management
· Ensuring compliance with environmental policies and government legislation by promoting environmental awareness, improvement initiatives and knowledge of procedures
· Environmental reporting and internal auditing including NPI emissions, energy and greenhouse audits
The ideal candidate is tertiary qualified in Environmental Engineering/Science/Management or a related discipline and has significant experience in an operational role in mining or heavy industry. An attractive salary package will be negotiated during the interview process.
