Straits Resources Limited is a successful and diversified resources group involved in gold and base metal operations in Australia. Straits is currently commissioning the Hillgrove Gold Mine near Armidale in the New England region of northern NSW – when in operations will become a major world class gold, antimony and tungsten producer.

The treatment plant operations utilise a range of conventional crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, electro-winning and gravity technologies to produce gold, antimony and tungsten metals.

Reporting to the Processing Manager the appointee will be responsible for the effective management of the day to day processing with key responsibilities including:
·         Coordinating the shift processing and daycrew activities
·         Liaison with maintenance personnel to determine maintenance priorities
·         Working with processing engineers to optimise metallurgical performance and operating costs
·         Coordinate training and development of operators
·         Providing management and technical support to the processing manager

The position requires either an experienced Mill Foreman or a Metallurgist/Chemical Engineer well experienced in managing production activities in a base metal operation. The appointee must be an enthusiastic and “hands on” individual committed to achieve an excellent workplace in terms of safety, productivity, employee development and morale. A focus on achieving production and cost targets is essential.

Armidale is located in the scenic New England region of NSW – ideally located approximately 2 hours drive from Coffs Harbour, 4 hours drive to Brisbane / Gold Coast and 5 hours drive to Sydney.
