Supervisors Fabrication/Assembly/Machine Shop/Physical Distribution



Fabrication – (2 positions)
  • This position requires an excellent working knowledge of welding techniques, process activities associated with detail preparation and basic machining.
  • The incumbent should also have experience/training in supervision and management of fabrication operations.
Machine Shop – (3 positions)
  • This position requires an excellent working knowledge of machining and welding techniques, process activities associated with detail preparation, and basic machining.
  • The incumbent should also have experience/training in supervision and management machining operations.
Assembly – (2 positions)
  • This position requires an excellent working knowledge of final assembly and sub-assembly departments.
  • Must maintain high quality standards on machines being built, minimize scrap, and utilize rework procedures when applicable.
  • The incumbent should also have experience/training in supervision and management of assembly operations.
Physical Distribution – (1 position)
  • This position requires an excellent working knowledge regarding all facets of receiving, storing, painting and shipment of materials.
  • The incumbent should also have experience/training in supervision and management of a Physical Distribution Department.

These are general qualifications and do not describe all of the requirements for each production area.

PREDOMINANT TASKS:
  • Effectively supervise the work force.
  • Insure that safety rules are adhered to and promptly report and investigate all accidents.
  • Insure that parts are completed in accordance with production schedule and quality standards.
  • Constantly monitor all work activities and take action to resolve problems.
  • Schedule workload for work centers in a particular area.
  • Supervise the orientation and training of new employees and evaluate their progress.
  • Maintain close contact with subordinate employees and report any significant human resource problems.
  • Actively participate in and lead continuous improvement/lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Communicate and interact with appropriate levels of organization to execute the business plan.
  • Develop human resources in the Structural, Assembly or Machine Shop organization
