General Manager
Brief Description
- The General Manager will bear overall responsibility for the overall operation of the Tucson location.
- The General Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer
- The General Manager will exchange information, give and receive advice regarding the finances of the company with the Chief Financial Officer.
- The General Manager will also participate with and provide information to the Sales Team Manager, the Field Service Superintendent and the other location General Managers.
- The General Manager is largely responsible for setting the direction and operating atmosphere for all operational areas of the location.
To include:
- hiring and development of the management team, development and implementation of processes that lead to continuous process improvement, discovery and development of new market sectors, resolving/organizing production and sales related issues and opportunities, recommending/approving budgets and/or capital purchases, implementation of the ESOP and Great Game of Business throughout the organization, recommending to and approval of the Safety Plan, the Sales Plan and the Business Operating Plan, establishing standards for policies and performance and other management demands that may exist or arise.
Reporting Relationship:
- The General Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
- The QC Manager, Shop Managers, and the Planning and Estimating Manager are direct reports to the General Manager.
- The majority of the General Manager’s work will be accomplished in an office/shop environment with significant time spent in developing management processes, tracking production and providing training/mentoring to personnel
- However, the General Manager may need, from time to time, to actually visit a customer/vendor to better understand the needs and capabilities of the customer/vendor.
Requirements:
- Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer
- MBA preferred, but not required
- Five years management experience
- P & L responsibility
- Lean Manufacturing
