Mining Engineer

• Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health, safety and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned
• Record and report volumes and equipment statistics.
• Perform planning and designing for the mining activities and required mine infrastructure.
• Formulate and present short range mine plans.
• Ensure that all survey guidance related to designs is provided in the field in an accurate and timely manner.
• Work closely with Operations personnel to ensure that designs are implemented in the field.
• Closely track performance related to volumes and productivities to ensure that design and planning assumptions are appropriate.
• Promote and coordinate continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Manage projects, including planning and scheduling of: capital projects, complete budgeting process, and direct special projects.
• Complete other special projects as assigned

• Successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering) with 0 to 5 years of experience.
• Strong computer skills required, including MS Office and SurvCADD experience preferred. Ellipse experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written, oral and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment is essential.
• Experience with Runge planning software a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
