The large porphyry system at Cadia Valley Operations contains a number of deposit styles and structural settings including one of the world’s highest grade gold-rich porphyry’s at Ridgeway. A success driven team of geoscience professionals conduct a large program of Province Development and resource definition in support of the operations and feasibility studies. Due to an expansion of activities in 2008 we are seeking experienced geologists who are interested in working on the Cadia system.
The role is residential, based in Orange – an attractive well serviced town of 40,000 people being very favourably located only 3.5 hours west of Sydney and 3 hours north of Canberra in Central West NSW.
The key areas of responsibility within this role will include:
· Assist with the safe and efficient operation of the Province Development drilling programs.
· Involvement in the complete process from drill hole design, supervision of drilling programs through core logging and interpretation and inputs into models and resource estimates.
· Participation in team geology evaluations including inputs into several research activities.
· Good communication, a team focus, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and problem solving are valued attributes in this role.
Competitive terms of employment will be discussed at interview. The position is based on a flexible working arrangement which can be tailored to suit individual situations - fixed term or casual.
